Executive Summary / Labeling Rules

  • Mandatory Mark: TRA Oman logo + Dealer Registration Number + Approval Number + QR Code.
  • QR Function: Scanning the QR code resolves directly to the official TRA database entry for digital verification.
  • Placement: On the product packaging box and user manual (or e-label for devices with integrated screens).

Digital traceability is transforming compliance across Middle Eastern telecom markets. In Oman, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) enforces a modern labeling framework requiring a 2D QR code on all certified telecommunications and radio frequency equipment.

Anatomy of the Oman TRA Label

A compliant Oman TRA label contains four mandatory elements:

  • TRA Authority Logo: Official insignia.
  • Dealer Number: The registration number of the local Omani dealer.
  • TA Number: The unique Type Approval number assigned to the device model.
  • Dynamic QR Code: A scannable code generated via the TRA e-services portal.

Physical vs. E-Labeling Options

For compact hardware or devices with screens (smartphones, tablets, smartwatches), e-labeling inside the software menu is permitted. However, the outer retail box must still display the physical QR label for border customs inspection.
